23 years abroad

My new husband (married him in June 06) was out of the country for 23 years in South Africa. He did not keep up his National Insurance contributions during that time. What will happen when he is 65? The 10yrs payback time is only to cover certain years in which defiency notices weren't sent, other years are still covered by the 6yr timescale - the best way to find out is to check the amounts and dates shown on the forecasts.

I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.
