The pain of wisdom teeth can refer to the ear.
It's not the ear that's aching, it just feels to be there. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
can you reccommend any painkillers that would help? I have tried nurofen (ended up going through a pack a day!) paramol which didnt even touch the pain and codydramol which sent me to sleep - no good with 2 LO's to look after! The Only Thing Men Can Do Right Is Get Everything Wrong

You can always ask the pharmacist for advice on painkillers. There are stronger OTC remedies than just paracetamol and ibuprofen, and you can say what you need in terms of not being made sleepy etc.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Just to stick in my two penneth. I've had a wisdom tooth coming through for around 10 years! It has never really caused any problems until a couple of months ago when the gum around it swelled up (and I couldnt stop poking it with my tongue which I'm sure didn't help!). As it has only ever come through a bit I suppose its much easier for stuff to get stuck under the gum flap. Anyway, at the dentist I go to they have a policy of not removing a wisdom tooth until you've had 3 infections requiring antibiotics. My dentist rinsed under the gum (or something) and gave me 5 days of antibiotics. It cleared up in around a week and has been fine since. Touch wood. Hope your daughter feels better.0

Hope you are feeling better:)
I have a wisdom coming through for the past 9years - still not all through.
I forget about it for ages until I have a flare up & have to force myself to clean on and around it. Would second the cotton bud idea as the last thing you want is for any muck to stay in what is essentially an open sore (nice!)"This is a forum - not a support group.
