Top up TV is re-vamping its service, by offering a Freeview pvr ( Sky +/ TIVO style box ) that will download and store your favourite programs,to watch when you wish, I cannot make out if it is randomly or by choice. AND maybe in advance???
Box (Thomson) costs £179, or £79 to current subscribers. Have only seen rolling ad on channel 40ish. Suppose clearer details on their website.ac's lovechild0 -

Could be a good moneymaking scheme here - next weeks racing, football, lottery.0 -
Yeah, we had it installed last week. VERY useful for the Racing results I find.mikeassured wrote:Hi

Edit: DAmmam beat me to it!
Somehow I think it may just be certain programmes, ie E4 first look0 -
I think I will use it to watch the lottery.
I think you have been given duff info.
Where would they get the programmes from?
They are not all sitting on a server waiting for people to download themWe all evolve - get on with it0 -
I think you'll find he is talking about a sky box. You can watch some programmes a week earlier such as Spooks. The normal episode will be shown on a Monday night at 9.00pm but you can then switch over to BBC3 at 10.30pm to watch the following week's programme. It's great if you are a fan!!!!!!!!!0

Thanks for all your replies. I thought it unlikely that this service would be available to the extent he was told:o

NOT confused, TUTV will use channels on Freeview, previously unused, to download a selection of encrypted programs to their new set top box's hard drive for you to watch at your leisure.
A bit like a video library, so they could include programs not yet broadcast in the clear, as no one other than subscribers could view them.ac's lovechild0 -
