how long between handing keys back and declaring BR?

Hi, we are hopefully gonna go to court next week to do the big BR (finally getting funds together the weekend fingers crossed!). Now we've known for a while that we were gonna hand keys back for our mortgaged flat with NR so we moved into rented all A ok that side. I have been advised to send keys back to NR recorded delivery before we go BR. Does it matter how long in between the two we do it? For example can I send the keys back Monday morning then go to court Thursday or should I leave it a bit longer in between for any reason?

Thanks

Beard

It doesn't matter. What does matter is signing a form from the mortgage providers after BR. NEVER EVER EVER EVER do this as it makes the shortfall from the repossession a new debt and thus cannot be included in your BR.

If you want to send the keys back today then do so. You've moved out so no problem. Just include letter stating your going BR, moved out and you want them to repossess ASAP so get the ball rolling please.
