What colour tights to wear with white shoes?

Morning everyone,

Looking for some advice please.

I have terrible trouble getting shoes that fit me. I won't bore you with the details but needless to say most trips to shoe shops end with me in tears.

I have bought some shoes that fit me (hurrah) but they are white and I am beginning to regret it as I can't decide what colour tights look ok with them. I want to wear them in winter with skirts.

Please give me your ideas as to what colour(s) would look good so that I don't feel I have wasted my money.

Many thanks,

Mamashaz

I feel for you as I suffer from the same problem. I cant help on the tights colour, but have you thought about dyeing your shoes? I dyed a pair black and they look great, maybe worth thinking about.

I was going to suggest dying the shoes too. If not, then natural colour tights would look best.

I think depending on the outfit you could go with what ever colour you like....

if you also had a white coat or bag, then all sorts of colours would do well... black, brown, burgundy, pattern tights are all the rage at the moment too...

    What are the shoes like?

Dying is also a fab idea - you could buy a few pairs and dye them diff colours - would be like a whole new world of shoes for you.

I stick to black or natural coloured tights when I wear white shoes.

Thanks everyone - I think I am going to be brave and get some jazzy tights to go with them as well as natural coloured ones.

Natural/nude tights with white shoes - never ever black. Also grey woollen tights would probably go with white shoes for colder days.
    Thank you all who post.

Depending on the rest of the outfit, brightly coloured opaque tights could look really good. Say you had a black dress with white shoes and plum tights and cardgain.
White shoes would look good with jeans and skinny trousers.

I disagree that black tights look bad with white shoes. If you Google "black tights" "white shoes" there are plenty of stylish ladies showing how it's done  I think a lot of it depends on your personal sense of style and confidence- if you feel uncomfortable in what you're wearing, you'll have a hard time convincing everyone else.

I stick to black and nude tights because I often wear very colourful clothes and I'm obsessive about coordinating, but depending on what else you wear all colours are workable OP. As it's coming up to autumn I would look out for some jewel coloured tights, like royal blue, burgundy red, deep purple and emerald green. Have a trying on session and see what looks best with your white shoes and the rest of your outfit.

As Chyna says grey tights would probably look good, and there should be plenty of thick grey tights available as they'll be 'in' this season.
