Cleaning up credit files

Hi,
I'm having some trouble with a couple of my creditors. I sent letters off on 21/08/10 for them to update my files. I know it's early days as it's only just a month but one of my creditors has recorded another default on my account two days ago.
The original debt was with 3g when I went BR & that is who I have written to. Two days ago, Lowell Portforlio 1 Ltd recorded a default with the same details as the 3g default on behalf of 3g - so I have two defaults for the same debt. The only difference is the current bal which has increased by £100.00.
How do I go about getting this corrected? Do I have to wait to hear from Lowell?

Give about a month to see what happens.
Often the DCA (Lowells) here will put their default on, and shortly after the original creditor will take theirs off.
In theory you should never have 2 for the same thing, but sometimes there is this crossover.
If both are still there in a month, then you can start making angry noises.
