Caller 1: Macaque, the UK population is going to increase to 70 million by 2050. This is a small island and that's why I'm putting all my money into property.
Macaque: Good point caller. Did you also know that we can construct homes for over 300 million people on the same building space we use today?
Caller 1: Hang on, the dog's barking, I better go and see what's going on.

Caller 2: My wife and I bought a house in Surrey for £41,000 in 1971. My daughter is now looking for a flat and the best she can find is a shabby little bedsit £180,000. Its madness! House prices have completely lost touch with reality.
Macaque: Why don't you sell your house and use some of the equity to help your daughter?
Caller 2: Believe me macaque we've tried but the best offer we've had is £1.4 m. A detached house in Surrey has to be worth more than that. We are not giving it away.

Caller 3: Macaque, I have just worked out that if interest rates stay the same and house prices rise by 50% over the next five years, the value of my portfolio will increase by over £1m.
Macaque: What happens if interest rates rise and/or house prices stay the same?
Caller 3: Now you are just speculating Macaque. Let's keep the discussion to facts.

Christine from Crouch End: Hello Macaque. In Matthew chapter 5 it states: "That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart".
Macaque: Thanks Christine but I am afraid you have phoned in to the wrong programme. 'Lust hour' is on after 11, until then the topic is avarice.

Caller 1: [STRIKE]Hang on, the dog's barking, I better go and see what's going on.[/STRIKE] Very good point. How likely is that to happen though and who is likely to wish to live in such a way? Can you imagine 5 times the population livining in the same building space we occupy now?

A sure sign of a dream. There are many detached properties in Surrey for less than £1.4 million. Why do you need to exagerate so much?

At £1.4 milllion your looking at this http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-27816647.html/svr/3108?premiumA=true

Very funny, but the caller is indeed speculating in the first line of the script. Why not make up a realistic script for this one along the lines of interest rates and prices stagnating.

Instead of listening to the 'avarice hour', you should maybe listen to the 'lust hour'. You certainly seem to be lusting after lower prices ;)[/QUOTE]

    Humour Bypass Alert

I got the humour, thanked the original post and tried to inject a little bit of humour back with my comment he should be listening to the 'lust hour'.

If you can't make a reply on a forum then why bother posting then.

P.S. did you not see my humerous reply to your post in the other thread
