Help! I'm being chased by Crapquests Lawyer's.

Options
Hi all,
I haven't posted on here for a while as my debt problems have calmed down as of late thanks to this site.
Until yesterday when I received a letter from a lawyer acting on Crapquests behalf, this lawyer had taken me to court back in 2007 and obtained a C.C.J. against me then it immediately took out an inhibition against my Home.
I had at the time paid them £25.00 per month until a Council Debt Advisor suggested I should stop (approx 4 payments) as they had done me a lot of damage for what was a very small debt (less than £900).
I have heard nothing till yesterday and now they are saying they will go for enforcement unless I offer to start Monthly payments.
I found out from this site that I could have defended against the original C.C.J. hearing on the ground of the 5 year statute barred rule
but I joined after it had been granted so it was too late.
What should I do?
What can they do?

W.W.

  • Hi, W.W.
I was led to believe by my debt advisor that once they have a ccj then it can be enforced at anytime once you have been notified of the judgement.

    Binky.
  • Hi again,
    Any advise would be appreciated.

I assume you live in Scotland as they have 5 years, Uk its 6.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

    PRESS THANKS

I would phone one of the debt charities Martin recommends - I'm sure CCCS have a scottish department and National Debtline does as well - have a look for their website and it'lltell you the Scottish number.
    Good Luck
