Which coffee machine is best?

Hi all,

Hi all,

I want to buy a coffee machine for my fiance for christmas but I dont know which one is best out of a Nescafe Dolce Gusto or a Bosch Tassimo. Does anyone have any advice on which one would be best?

Thank you

  • I've had the Dolche one for nearly a year it is wonderful, I use it several times a day. Its better than coffee shop coffee which now can taste bitter.

I know it cost me £3.20 for 8 cups with the pods so it might be worth comparing but its my only luxery and so nice to have frothy coffee in the morning. Also Dolche have site that you can put codes in from boxes which work out at 11p cashback per box. Which all adds up and you can buy pods, and accessories. Plus extra 250 points with machine. I was bit worried Would be another gadget I have and use once but its fab.

Which one depends on which type of coffee you want to make. I have a filter coffee machine (a cheap Argos one, perfectly adequate), but I also have a Senseo Latte Select (think that's what its called). The Senseo Latte uses Senseo Pods (about £3 for 18, regularly on offer), you can use these to make a fresh coffee, or you can make a latte or a cappuccino with it - the fresh milk makes all the difference. I previously had a Dolce Gusto, got rid of that as I didn't like the taste - obviously depends on your taste, John Lewis often have these as displays where you can sample so it might be worth a call to them so you can go along and taste the coffee.

ETA: I'd love a Gaggia, maybe one day.......

Ok I have both a Dolce and a Tassimo...(one was a gift the other a win!) the tassimo I find has more drinks on offer, i.e. several different types of coffee, hot choc and even tea (though that seems hard to find currently). The Dolce is limited to nescafe blended coffees and one type of hot chocolate, and tbh I use it more for hot chocolate! The other thing i have noticed, is if you are trying to multi-task the tassimo reads the pods barcodes so will turn itself off when it has added enough to you cup, where the dolce will keep going till you stop it!! I also find the tassimo easier to keep clean, but that might just be me! :)

Thank you very much! I didnt know that the gusto had to be turned off and the tassimo turns itself off, is this after every drink that it makes, i.e will it turn off once I have done a hot chocolate? Does it allow you to add more water if you need too? I think my mind has been made up I will buy him a tassimo!

    Thank you everyone :) x
