Oh dear... Happy New Year everyone. Well, I had a great Christmas however on surveying the damage to my debt free wanabee status it has not been a kind Christmas. Still, it was enjoyed! Life is there to be enjoyed I suppose.

November and December saw me slip back into my old ways buying gifts for people (however my debt is still a lot lower than when I started this challenge - I wasn't that bad). I didn't pay off anywhere near as much as I intended to - instead I increased my CC debt slighlty. I don't feel that I have suffered a major setback as I have loads of stuff to ebay over this year PLUS my council tax and water rates don't need to be paid for 2 months this year - so here's to 2007

By the end of 2007 I will be 15 months into my 18.5 month challenge. Theoretically I should have only £3.5k debt remaining. Looks like a tall order now but, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Come on everyone, lets see your end of 2007 targets on here, then lets come back 12 months from now and see how we have done.
    Start of £18.5k in 18.5 month project - 3rd October 2006

    Debt at 3rd October 2006 - £18,637.56
    Debt now (1st February 2007) - £16,627.92

    Loan#1 £3960.66 | Loan#2 £7362.50 | Loan#3 £428.55 | CC £4876.21 | [STRIKE]OD £4038.76[/STRIKE] (moved to CC on 0%)

Well done JDGB on your progress so far - and best of luck with your business venture. Christmas does really throw things doesn't it? I'm reeling from calculating how much we have spent over the past month :o - but I am still determined to pay off at least £10K this year (hopefully more).

Will be watching your progress and hoping to pick up some hints! :D

    Why are January's so tough?

Anyhow, I've had an OK month - feel slightly guilty as I have booked some flights for a holiday for me and my family in June which I put on my credit card - thing is the flight prices were going up everytime I checked so I did it now to get them cheaper, which I think counts as saving some money!

My new business concept is progressing quite nicely - in fact the first web page is due to go up in the next couple of days.... fingers crossed and hope it works.

Other than that guys nothing much new to report! Debts going down, still kind of on target (only just though!)
