trouble opening tins

It's more than a little frustrating and DS2 who is 14 struggles to open the tins on his own because of this.
it is frustrating l agree, it should'nt be such a struggle to open a simple thing like a tin. when you think about it it's ridiculous but it's good to know it's not just me0 -

I tend to use the really basic can openers - the ones you get in supermarkets for about 40 - 50p! They last a few years then I get another one. I have tried the fancy ones (but never an electric one) but always gone back to the simple ones. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

You've got more chance of losing them than breaking them and they're dead easy to use. I got mine from Millets 5 years ago and they're still going strong.0 -
Brabantia (available with plastic or metal handle) or OXO Good Grips
both are sturdy, always work & are comfortable to use
you might be able to find them cheaper, but you can get a look at them on the Amazon links (& they have free delivery)0 -
Ive had an electric one for donkeys years, they cost about a tenner and are brilliant.
Youve probably spent more than that lately on your rubbish ones.
If you insist you need a manual one Lakeland do the best quality ones in my opinion.
Same here, I have had a electric one for the last 5 years as my hand don't work so good with Fm, so it is a lot easier.0 -
I was having the same trouble, then I bought the Basics tin opener from Sainsbury - it's got white plastic handles. It's absolutely brilliant - not had anything i can't open with it.0
