heya, our mortgage broker really messed us around.. Its been 3wks and everytime we have asked for an update she has said she cnt get hold of them. I rang them and they said they have been ringing her with no answer! She sent the forms half filled or somethng so they hadnt even credit checkd us! So anyway i told her we are pulling out and nw we are doing it ourselves with nationwide and at a better rate. We have done the application. Passed the credit check. Hav the valuation booked for friday so nw we have to send the relevant paperwork bk.. Once they have recieved this, how long does it normally take before they give you a mortgage offer? -if they even do... We are so nervous!

You could do your own credit check and find out the date of the credit check.
Each bank and building society has their own underwriting department, so every lender is different. You could phone up underwriting department and try to find out....
Some brokers are slow....0 -
Hey, The credit check was monday, So i dont expect it to all be sorted out in a week or anything hehe! Just wondering if anyone new how long on average it takes before an offer is given after all paperwork is recieved!
The broker wasnt just slow. she never answered my calls or contacted me back! lol0 -
Sorry you found a broker you were not happy with, we are not all like that I assure you.
If the valuation has been booked then this is generally a good sign. If they were not looking to lend they would usually not instruct a valuation.
If Nationwide ask you for documentation get it to them asap. Offer to fax or email it with an original to follow in the post.
Once the valuation report is back to them they will assess it. If the report has any concerns this could cause a delay.
If everything is satisfactory you could have an offer by this time next week.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. hopefully we can send it all bk by wednesday next week (before would be better) so then fingers crossed it wont take to long after that!!
