Any chance of a mortgage?

Options
I had a house which was repossessed 12 years ago - due to me splitting up with my ex husband and there being negative equity on it. I have since re-married and have been debt free for the past 10 years and am working in a fairly secure job. The house we live in is in my husband's name only, but we are due to remortgage in the next month or so, and I wondered if it is worth asking to be included on the mortgage now? I know that Barclays will NEVER lend to me (well, that is what they said about 6 years ago when I last tried). With the current mortgage lending situation I don't hold out much hope, but it seems rather harsh that a situation which happened 12 years ago, should affect me for the rest of my life? Are there any lenders that anybody knows about that will consider me?

If you are remortgaging, meet the lending criteria and have equity in the property shouldn't be a problem.

You would think so, but it certainly wasn't the case before - even though I was working then. It isn't a major issue as my hubby can get the money on his own, but it would be nice!
