Hi there
I need to think of something cheap to include in party bags for 10 8/9/10yr old girls, budget is really tight & as a parent I get sick & tired of some of the junk they drag home
I am thinking that part of the party will involve either paint your own t.shirt or decorate a biscuit/cake so that can be included
Any other ideas ???
I don't mind having a stab at making some little bits & bobs to put it
many thanks in advance

Just afew ideas :
+ Packet of lolipops - can be split into everyones party bag
+ Packet of balloons - can be split into everyones party bag
+ Bubbles
+ Pens/Pencils/Notepad
These are just afew of my ideas that are 'slightly' useful!:wave:0 -
How about a drinks bottle out of the 99p store? I got some for dd's party bags, metallic pretty colours - practical, and if they're art and crafting at the party could stick on some jewels etc to personalise them?0

I got these http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.208-7270.aspx cushions which at £4.66 is not mega cheap. But as I spent just over £50 I got 500 points which is £20 off at pizza express! So £33 aprox for 12 party bags!
The reason I got these was a lot of the party is going to be watching (we have a man coming with snakes/spiders etc) & it will stop them getting sore bottoms!0 -
I have recently started doing Sweet Cones and think they would be perfect for party bags. Maybe you could make them too?0

yes I'd thought of that or some home made cookies wrapped in cellophane - they always look so nice don't they0 -
How about something from Claires Accessories from the 75% off sale? or buy a packet of those Nesquik Magic straws, each one is individually wrapped, so they are ideal for party bags (my son had some for his party bags last year and they went down well)
If you have a Home Bargains nearby, then it's worth a look in there too for little bits and bobs

Do you buy the cones or just use a sheet of cellophane?

I buy the cones. If you want to see what I mean just right click on my name and view my profile. There is a link to my blog on there and I have just done a blog post with pics on0 -
I have just got back from Tescos and they had packs of two stripey A5 notepads reduced to 50p - so they work out at only 25p each. They are great value - they are wire bound and in pretty colours. I bought some for my daughter's party bags - she will be 9. They also had packs of sparkly heart coloured pencils reduced to 45p - I think there were 9 or 10 in a pack.
Also I have just bought lots of party bag gift stationery items from Tesco home store - they will probably have them in a normal Tesco's. They were reduced to 10p - some packets had 2 or 3 items in so pennies for each item. They aren't all rubbish either - they are stuff they can use. For example I bought a big pencil sharpener called splat shaped but looks like a flower, packets of 3 mini post it notes in fun shapes (so just over 3p each), mouse erasers (2 in a pack), mini highlighters (3 in a pack). You could make a decent party bag with stuff they can use really cheaply with this lot.
99p & Poundland often have packs of funky patterned emery boards that could be split up for older ones, also hair bands etc.
You said you could make something so if you are crafty you could maybe find some cheap material and make a simple bag with handles, a small drawstring bag or if you are talented a make up bag to put the things in to make it really special.
I hope you manage to find some goodies for the party.0 -
wilkinsons do some nice things for kids bags. I got pencils, sticky note pads and erasers all quuite cheaply and just made the bags out of cellophane0
