PC will no longer burn CDs. In Windows Media Player it says Connect burner, in iTunes it says Burner or software not found and Nerosmart only has Image Recorder in the dropdown menu and is not allowing me to choose my CD drive.
Have Googled and tried several fixes, but all to no avail. All was working fine before I had a new motherboard and CPU installed. Repair shop I used are stumped, so I'm looking for a recommendation.
Picked up a business card in Tesco's for this firm: PC Home Fix - anyone used them? They've no call out fee which is good. I also saw their ad in the wee local papers.

Post this on the techie board. It's almost certainly a driver issue, so should be easy enough to fix.
Post the details of the CD burner, and the details of the new mobo and chipset to speed the process up. Also post details of whether or not the drive will play CD's but not burn, or just not working at all.0 -
Hi ,
Just wondering has anyone any experience of getting a laptop fixed in Belfast. Is almost 2 year old Dell Lap top, before Christmas the return key broke off my husband has fixed it a few times but now it won't stay on at all, also today a screw seems to have come out of the screen causing the back of it to split, it seems to not be screwing in again properly. Is it possible to fiw these things?0 -
Speak to Plain English in Ards, would be worth the trip there! http://www.pecsni.co.uk/ Won't do any harm to ask!Dave0

Re the Dell problem, new keyboards or keys are available on ebay, but you may get free help from Dell if you quote the sale of goods act .!!
