Been to court today :)

Options
Hi All

Well you were all right, it really wasn't that bad!

We arrived to court at 9.00am and I have to say I was feeling quite sick at this point. We were sat in the waiting room until around 9.45 at which point we were called by a very nice lady who took us through to another office and asked for our forms. I did have a slight panic when she asked if I had the court number for the IVA we had been in as I didn't. Our IVA has failed but we haven't yet received the notice of closed account so I was already worried about not having that. However she said its fine no problems. The lady flicked through our forms to check they were signed and took our money. She explained that she would then pass the forms to the Judge to make the bankruptcy order, I asked if we would need to see the judge and she said,No we dont do that anymore no one sees him for Bankruptcy'! I was surprised as I had spent ages wondering what to wear to see a judge! didn't want to look too casual but also didn't want to be too dressed up iin a suit! anyway, she asked us to wait in the waiting room again for 5 - 10 mins while she went to the judge. Well we were in the waiting room no more than 5 mins if that when she reappeared to say the judge had made the order and we can go now/1 I was totally shicked but at the same time I instantly felt a weight lift from me. It was all over and done with in an hour. We are having a call tomorrow from the OR so now I'll be panicking over that but hey I think the hardest bit is done. So glad we made the choice to do this and finally get our lives back on track
Thanks to you all for your support xx I'll let you know how it goes with the OR tomorrow
xx

Oh yes..its really easy. There is nothing to worry about. You are in and out in no time and no wagging fingers or anything. I'll bet most people feel like clicking their heels together as they exit and going for a celebration.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
  • Oh congratulations. I am going to court tomorrow too. It is a 1st come 1st served basis where I live. wow I hope I don't need to see the judge either! Once it has been granted I think the OR is just formality tying up assets etc. Good luck :)
