Tesco wine code - refused as not sent to me (off MSE)

Hello all,
I tried to use the XXDLGV coupon to purchase wine from the Tesco wine site and it was refused, I got an error message saying "eCoupon(s) has been removed as it has become invalid". I contacted Tesco and they said to place the order and call them and they would add the points. I still could not place the order (same error message came up) even after removing the coupon. So I emailed Tesco again. I then got a long reply saying that the coupon is not valid at all (see below).
Secondly, I'm sorry for any inconvenience caused but
the XXDLGV coupon isn't linked to your email address or account.
Sadly all eCoupon codes are linked to the email addresses
they're sent to by post or email.
For example: If we sent this code to your email address (email address removed)
and then you tried to use the coupon on another account,
it wouldn't accept it as it won't recognise the email address
you would have used to log into that account.
I'm ever so sorry but I must advise that we don't accept
voucher codes from third party website's if that's where
you got the code from. The only way we accept vouchers
online are if they are personally sent to you by our market team.
They're sent directly to your email address so that when you sign
into your online account they'll be accepted with no issues
---Has anyone else experienced the same? I can't understand if Martin has left
it in his site and I havent heard of anyone complaining

people sometimes put codes on the site that are directly linked to certain accounts or cards as they sometimes do not realise that it cannot be shared,it will not be removed from the site unless it is reported0

I have had the same error message with codes emailed directly to me from Tesco's on at least three seperate occasions. I have now written to complain as they are basically wasting my time with what amounts to false promises of a purchase discount. I await a response....if i ever get one that is.0
