Woolwoths 2 litres Castrol Magnatec for £3

OK folks, I've no idea if this is national but Woolies have 2 litres of Castrol Magnatec 10w-40 for £3-00.

It was originally priced £3-48 for 100% extra free (1 litre + 1 litre free) which was cheap anyway, but for £3, it's a steal. 4.5 litres retails around the £20 mark.

I picked mine up at the Ellesmere Port branch and there's about half a dozen still on the shelf, at the back in the clearance section.

    Great deal.

Those who are unsure of car maintenance: check in your service handbook or haynes guide, to see which grade of oil you require.

Good question. I'm assuming it's for petrol engines as there no mention of suitability for diesels anywhere on the labels. Simply says suitable for 'modern' engines, whatever they are!!!!!

I'm rather thick when it comes to cars, but, I had mine serviced a few months back, how do I know what type of oil to shove in there? Didn't think to ask at the time of servicing what oil the garage uses.

Is it true if you mix grades it can ruin your engine?

Depends on the car. For older vehicles you can be a bit more laid back about the oil grade. Personally I use cheapish oil and change regularly. I don't worry about the difference between 10W-40 instead of 15W-40. Nothing is worse than old oil.
