Rainy weds 29th sept daily chat

  • hello lovely people.

It's finally stopped raining here, it was awful earlier but I love the sound of the rain on the window and I was sat listening to it at lunchtime, very relaxing.

Survived week 3 of my bookkeeping course last night. We're doing exam papers for the manual unit already! The tutor is going to give me a paper to take on holiday (which is going to be done at class next week) and the notes for the following week when they are looking at SAGE for the first time. I want to keep up with the course, it's something I'm doing literally to keep the brain cells going but because it's an alien concept to me I want to make sure I understand it as I go along.

Had to have the brake pads changed on the car yesterday. Starting making a screeching/scraping noise end of last week which got more and more regular and you know what I'm like with driving and cars. I had it booked into the garage which would have been parts plus an hour or so labour but OH offered to do it and then he became a real victim/martyr over it. Anyway, it's done now and he saved me money which obviously I'm grateful for. Albeit he then went into a weird rant last night about why I wanted it doing.......erm, because it's scraping when I brake/release the brakes/turn right and I was getting a bit worried? The pads were £32 from the shop and he paid for them and said to knock it off what he owed me for the holiday (which I'm glad he did eventually offer as I only got 2/3 of my salary!) and then he went on and on about how I could have got them cheaper online. I explained that although they were £18 online from some random website, add on the VAT and the delivery and that was nearly £32 so what's the problem?....... it would have meant a few more days being unhappy driving the car and not feeling 100% safe.....he said 'well it's not an MOT fail' ..........sigh........

I don't do Christmas cards either.

I went to pick up my car... and they gave me the Starship Enterprise! Everything's electric, even the handbrake! I still managed to stall it three times though...

No parcel, but it should be redelivered on Monday, and a uni buddy is coming round to sit in and wait whilst I'm out. Will set her up on the 'net before I go so she won't get bored. !!!!ed I wasted a day though.

I'm searching for something, you'd think it would be easy.

I want a new (well second hand/ebay is preferable) black pencil skirt for work. Thing is, I want mid calf length and longest I can find is 31 inches (and £22!) which isn't long enough. I ain't flashing my calves for a few stone yet and definitely not my knees!!!

I keep looking on ebay but they just aren't there. I have already ditched one which is too big and the other I own is now literally touching my ankles it is so long and big on me. I do have another but I reckon it's a good stone or so away and I need something cheap as a gap filler for a month or so.

I've looked on ebay, evans, new look, M+S, next, BHS, simply be, tesco, yours and ambrose wilson so far!

Hi all, I was wondering whether anyone knows if Pap lurks regularly - if so, can someone let me know as I have some information I wish to give her.
    Thanks, Lucy

BB, could you find someone local who does alterations? Your shape is obviously going to be changing quite dramatically and it might be cheaper to just get a few basics taken in rather than keep replacing them every few weeks.

I only do handmade cards for christmas and I only send around 15. One of my best friends has failed to send me a card for 20 of the 21 years I've known her...when she turned up with one last year I was utterly gobsmacked. She said to keep it and put it out every year as it would be the only year she got round to it. :D

There's far to many hormones in this house tonight, roll on bedtime!
