Anyone receive a letter from a commission investigating NI Banks?

Just remembered there that I received a letter from a "commission" investigating the Northern Ireland banks. I'm at work and I don't have the letter to hand so don't remember too much from it. Has anyone else received such a letter? One thing that did concern me was the availability of my information to them. Surely the bank should withhold that information (data protection rules and all that).

Yes, I received one of these letters on Saturday and was a bit concerned that it was some sort of scam. Still haven't decided if I will take part if they phone.0

They provided a freephone number on thr letter and I rang back on Saturday and left a message stating that I did not wish to take part.
I must investigate whether First Trust are allowed to disclose my information to 3rd parties - and if so - what exactly have they disclosed to this "commission".0 -
I got one too.0

Haven't had one of these, but the only commission investigating NI banks at the moment is the Competition Commission (an OFT group) looking at unfair and uncompetitive practices amongst the 'Big 4'.
This isn't something new, it's just an extension of the investigation started in 2005 after a super complaint by GCCNI and Which.
I doubt very much if these letters are a scam, but in case anyone wants to check, here's a number for the Competition Commision - 0207 271 0100 (London landline number)
And here is a link to the CC website detailing the investigative process.0 -
That's the very company Bingo Bango - thanks!0
