Hi All,
We were going to take a few days break to the Killyhevlin in Enniskillen but we cannot get a date that matches their deal and our time off. Has anyone any nice alternatives doing mid week breaks? We are based in Belfast and from the North Coast so were looking somwhere different... Possibly in the South but within a couple of hours drive?
Many thanks

I'd recommend Corick House Hotel in Augher/Clogher. I married there recently, and although I've been there several times, I'm always impressed!
There's lovely walks in Clogher Valley too, plus it's not too far from Enniskillen- 25 miles I think.

slieve russell in ballyconnell is lovely, they do mid week offers too. There is a spa on site, fancy afternoon tea, golfcours and 2 restaurants. Ballyconnell has really good steaks at the anglers rest. Eniskillen abt 30 mins away, close enough to marble arch, castle coole, florence court for things to do.

Give this crowd a call, got a lovely mid week break a few years back with evening meals in too:T:T:T the spa is lovely and if you like golf too don't forget your sticks;)
3 or so miles North of Enniskillen and some lovely walks in and around the grounds of the hotel too as well as close access to castle archdale and Kesh.
Not massively cheap, but worth it for the quality, however they should have a good offer on for a quiet October, we went February and it worked out very reasonable indeed:T worth checking out the Belly Telly to see any printed offers.I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
Thanks for the suggestions! I like the look of the russel and manor house... look ideal for a romantic break!Always overestimating...0

I recommend the radisson Blu Farnham Estate in Cavan. Great hotel (with spa and pool). They usually have offers in the local papers (might be Irish News)

We stayed in Manor House about 3 weeks ago, having stayed there at least 4 or 5 times in recent years. We were given a nice comfortable room in the new block which looks out on to the main Enniskillen/Irvinestown Rd. rather that the older part facing the Lough. On our 1st night we got very little sleep due to inconsiderate wedding guests returning very noisily to their rooms in the wee small hours. We also noticed that the meals in the restaurant were definitely not up to the same high standard as on our previous visits. We have also stayed a few times in the last year at The Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen, and while the grounds are nowhere near as extensive as The Manor House, we found the food to be much superior, and would consequently recommend it over The Manor. Interestingly, on previous visits to The Manor Hse (yrs ago as mentioned above) on 2 separate occasions I e-mailed the Gen Manager to say how much we had enjoyed our visit. To date we received absolutely no acknowledgment or response. Not good business in my opinion.0

Why not try a self-catering cottage in donegal. You can save loads if you buy your groceries, coal and logs in N.Ireland. The Republic is expensive for food, etc....petrol is a bit cheaper though:)
Here's a few I've been looking at recently, which are cheaper than most.

This one is expensive, but the setting is 'out-of-this-world'
