B & Q loan

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a copy of the terms and conditions of the B & Q 0% kitchen loan.

We are about to sign up to this and pay a 10% deposit.

We have hit a brick wall. They don't give you the terms and conditions until the application has been made successfully.

What happens if I make the application but don't like something in the t&c do I lose my 10% deposit.

This is not the first company I have had to sign up to something before getting the T&C's had the exact same issue with Leeds BS home insurance although in that case I eventually found the t&c's online.

This sort of thing drives me mad how can you sign for something you don't know the t&cs of?!?!?!?

Easy to say but where else would you get a 0% 5 year loan for 9k at the moment!!

In reality we were able to read the t&c's before signing the guy in the shop was talking rubbish!

Ring their head office and explain the situation. Get them to email it to you. Who signs on the dotted line without reading the small print? We all do and look where it's gotten us!!!

Don't do it before you know the ins and out. Anyway I think its illegal doing it the B&Q way, seek advice from Trading Standards

You're quite right wanting to read the conditions.

Is it really 0% though, I know you say about the deposit, but is there a charge for setting up the finance? Are their any penalties such as a small % charge for settling early or for even settling ontime. For instances if you use a credit card to settle etc..

One in four have been hit by charges because they did not fully understand financial terms and conditions, according to a survey today!

We read the t&c's before signing when we spoke to a much more helpful member of staff in store.

It truly is 0% as we would have to pay the same price for cash. The loan is actually 9.9% apr from HSBC but B&Q pay the interest. The offer is actually gone now but as we started our application before it went it was honourd.

No charge for setting up just a 10% deposit. There is no pen for setteling early and the only pens are £15 charge for a missed DD. Plus if you start missing DDs they could ask you to pay the full loan back imediatly. Not that I plan to miss any payments.

Couple this with the fact they price matched the appliances with Boots online applicance store and also gave us the cabinates half price even though when we started the order the cabinates weren't in the sale I think we got a fantastic deal!

Sounds like a truly excellent deal then.
