Hi guys and girls,
i was stupid in my younger days and got myself into debt, and didnt do anything about it for several years, however i decided to man up to my debts and get them paid off as im in a new higher paid job etc etc...
now, ive started paying these debts off with the creditors, but how do i get it cleared officially?
do i write to the creditor to demand my debt be cleared/ put on credit report as paid in full?
or do i write to the original company i.e littlewoods and get it cleared that way??
hope someone has the answers i need...
thanks guys

Hi Jamie,
Well done for facing your debts - I'd suggest getting a copy of your credit file from Experian etc to see what it says then contacting the companies when the debts are clear to ask them to update your credit file.
Good luck0 -
thank you maggiesmummy, so should i contact the creditor or littlewoods? or both??
thank you0 -
I think I would aim for both - write to both of them with the same info and ask them to update your credit file. There's a free trial with 20 pound cash back through topcashback.co.uk if you want to get your credit file that way.0
