Just an update as some on here know I have been helping a friend with his dmp. He sent out his original letter saying he was having financial problems along with an offer of payment which was a token one as adviced by the ccs. He also on advise after 100,s of calls( not a joke ) changed his phone number . Well he has made 2 months of token payments MBNA HAVE ACTED AS THOUGH THEY NEVER HAD HIS LETTER, AND THE RECENT STATEMENT DID NOT SHOW A PAYMENT RECEIVED AND THEY ASKED FOR HIM TO RING THEM he has said by letter only and has used the statement attachment to make the payment, his current bank said they MBNA have had it. TESCO SHOW HIS PAYMENTS AND THANK HIM FOR PAYMENT BUT HAVE NOT FROZEN INTEREST ETC BUT HAVE ISSUE A DEFAULT AND ASK FOR HIM TO RING THE COLLECTION DEPT. BARCLAYS KEEP SENDING SAME LETTER SAYING YOU HAVE MISSED A PAYMENT ETC . hE DID NOT SEND RECORDED AS HE COULD NOT AFFORD IT. I have the next letter ready to send out which was given by the ccs which says sorry to see you have failed to stop charges etc . Any further advise please.

I would like to help but all the capitals and the one huge paragraph makes it very hard for me to read....sorry
Maybe break it down and stop shouting?"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -

Hi Fourcandles,
MBNA have no communication skills what so ever, never send anything to them without having it signed for at their end, I would write and post it recorded and ask why they have not acknowledged the payment.
The only way they will freeze interest is if you enter into a repayment plan with them, credit companies do not freeze interest as a matter of course, it is entirely at their discretion. Perhaps you need to contact them all again and ask for a repayment plan and confirmation from them in writing that interest will be frozen so any monies paid go toward the actual debt.
Other members of the forum may be able to advise better than me, but I hope it helps.
