Shall I go to CSA

Right, recently divorce father of 2. I have been paying my ex £450pcm for the last few months and before that was paying £800 for the family home mortgage after I moved out. (got a bit complicated but we brought a house with my ex's parents)
I'm now thinking of going to the CSA to make everything right and above board (and it looks like my payments would be reduced too).
Am I looking to get stung for back payment from the time I left the family home or will they take into account my previous payments.

AFAIK, they will only take into account from when a claim is filed and they make contact with the NRP......and if that's the case, then if you were to make the contact, the claim as per their rulings would kick in then. I assume that the fact you pay the mortgage is taken into account with the divorce settlement? That wouldn't be dealt with by the CSA at all.0

Csa Have an online calculator which can work out how much it would cost you each month.
Its 15% of net take home pay for 1 child and 20% for 2 kids until they are 19 years old or finished full time education.
But please dont get the CSA involved if you can help it and keep it friendly with the EX for the sake of the kids.0 -
Unfortunatly things are not totally friendly ( have been but goes off and on) the reason I want to know if I should apply is as follows.
My wages vary considerably week to week, as I do a stand-by rota and can do ok them weeks(1k+ on occasions).
I'm currently off sick and earning basic money( net of under £400).
if I apply now it'll be taken in to account on my basic net wage.
If I wait for ex to apply she will wait until I'm back at work and i'll have more to show on my wage slips.
Also bugs me that she has given up a good job to return to college and claims she had no income.0 -
save some moeny as theyll take about 2 years to actual get round to getting themoney off you then theyll probably want it all at once!
2 years on my claim still hasnt got anywhere so seriously they arent that great if you can come up with a mutual agreement that will work out better, easier and less stressfull plus dont send only copy of wageslip as they WILL lose them. Then youll have to resedn them 4 months later because they WILL lose them. then you may even have to tell them again that you have sent them as they WONT process them.
Good Luck with CSA youl need it:rotfl:I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
