Hi Guys,
So I have finally finished and submitted forms for me and OH for court on Wednesday......really panicking now!!
My question now is we are in rented accomodation and I understand we will need to give a copy of the rental agreement to the OR, there is no clause or anything mentioned in the agreement about bankruptcy so will the OR need to tell my landlord? If they do do you guys have any experience as to how the landlord might react? I would like to hope that as long as they are getting the rent each month it wont be a problem but just wondering on anyone's previous experiences.
Thanks
xx

I asked the OR whether they would tell my landlord, and she said it was nothing to do with him as I didn't owe him any money.
If they do tell your landlord I can;t imagine they would be that bothered, as long as you keep paying the bills! Finding a new tenant is probably more hassle than its worth.
Although I do remember reading somewhere that the address may get a blackmark against it, which the landlord may not be happy with, but that is just an administration error which can be changed.
Good luck for wednesday!0 -
the OR may or may not tell your LL. i rang mine beforehand to let them know and they were fine, had no problem with it providing i kept paying the rent on time. i haven't read on here of anyone having to move out because the LL didn't want a br renting off them.
i would say there is a chance your LL will be told so probably better coming from you and you can explain your circumstances. you could ask the OR when you first speak to them if they plan to contact your LL?0 -
If you have been up to date with your rent and are good tennents then you have nothing to worry about. As you can point out to the LL if he asks you, you have an SoA worked out with the OR and have an allocated amount for rent that you pay and you have no debts and worry about DCA's pressurizing you to pay them and not the rent. You are in fact perfect tennants as you6 have no debt.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

We were told that they would not contact the landlord but that is wrong, the OR informed me that they have to by law contact your landlord as you may owe them money. My heart sank as I thought we would be thrown out but went to see the lanlord first and explained the situation, they were fine and thanked us for being honest. We were told that because we have been good tenants they had no problem with us staying in the house. So if it was me I would take the bull by the horns and lwet the landlord know what is happening, if you are up to date I would think you will be OK.
I think you will find that the house is not on a black list it is only the person/persons living at the address who are affected by credit, you are not on a black list but your information is on public view for lenders to see and it is up to them to decide if they want to lend to you xxIf you woke up this morning congratulations, you have another chance :j0 -
This should help answer an queations you may have, read page 12 it states that in most cases the OR will inform your Landlord. Try not worry and good luck

I supplied a copy of my tenancy agreement to the OR as requested, but asked them not to contact the landlord. They had no problem with this request and didn't contact the landlord.0

I am in a rented house, I informed my letting agent that I was going BR (as I was panicking about losing the house) and they werent bothered at all as the others above have said as long as the rent and bills are paid, it is far more hassle to find a new tenant. I didnt have to submit my contract to the OR either....
Hope this helps!!
