Set of Golf Clubs - Best time to buy

Hi,
I am taking lessons but am now on a break until the next year as the pro has suggested waiting till next year because of the weather.
The thing is, I have a set of clubs but they are not much cop, I am 6ft 2 and the pro reckons its worth investing in some more bespoke clubs.
The question I have is, are there any specific times of year when golf stores (be it American Golf or the Indepent Retailers) knock down the stock prices because business slows down/all the gear changes?
I am in no major rush to buy but don't want to go and buy a set in the next few weeks and then find out that they are going to drop in price in a few weeks.
Cheers

Not as tall

But have only just started golf, done the introductory course twice , try to get on thee range twice a week , working up to the par 3 course.Check out ebay , In the last two weeks I have put in silly bids i.e 99p for three items. I always choose 'collection only' , so work out how far are you wiling to drive. I reackon on not more than half an hour .
ALL my bids were winners :rotfl:in the past three weeks for less than £3 I have managed two brand new golf bags, one trolley and a pity poor set of clubs, but for a further £18 I got a very good set of clubs and two more bags. Plus a bucket full of balls /tee's , The only brand new item has been a £3.95 delivered glove.
Moral . check out ebay .... silly prices.0 -
Thats a good idea, I will keep my eyes peeled for any good items near me on Ebay.
Will also keep a lookout for any sales at American Golf.0
