I know I'm being silly but........

whilst on Facebook, I saw that my friend has gone to a wedding recently and the bride was wearing MY DRESS!

I know there will be 100's of other brides who will have also have got the same dress as me but I would've rather that I be the 1st bride seen by my guests in it...........

I only have 7 weeks to go and it did sink my heart a little to see someone else wearing it so soon to my big day.

I know I am being ridiculous and feel free to tell me! Had to vent on here else I would give the gameaway to others........

  • How about seeing if you can customize it (I've just mentioned doing the same in the Wedding chat thread).

You could see if someone could ad some sparkly beads, lace, sashes, corsages, cute bolero's etc.
Plus your accessories, shoes & flowers will probs be different.

    HTH
  • It will look very different on you (unless she is your twin)
Are you accessories / hair the same.

tbh, unless the dress is very very distinctive (think bright coloured) I doubt anyone will realise

thanks, thats what I needed to hear!

TBH, I hadn't thought of that. The bride had her hair up and different colouring to mine too. Plus I am going for it and wearing a veil, tiara, bolero and my hair is long and will be down.

Thankfully, its only the one pair of guests who went to that wedding and not half of our wedding party else I would really start to cry!

    Thanks girls

To be honest I think that clothes look so distinctive when they are put on an individual... I wouldn't recognise any dress as one I had seen before because everyone would look so unique and beautiful in it. Unless it was a VERY distinctive dress.

That's why I've never enjoyed looking through wedding magazines at dresses... because yes they look all right on the model but what do they look like on me?? :D They're never the same in real life.
    I love surprises!
  • maggie please dont tell me that, i am going to look like a model in a dress arent i? my pot belly will go and im going to grow 4 inchs?? no? *stamps feet*:rotfl:

  • Don't panic!! I had the exact same thing happen to me, and believe me I know how you feel, my heart sank when I saw the photos.

But even the same dress looks so different on different people, with different accessories and hair styles.

The end of the day, you choose your dress because it was the "one" for you!! And it still is the one for you!!

Don't panic over, put it out of your mind and just think to yourself... "I'll look better it in anyway" it worked for me :rotfl:
  • I have to agree with others - I wouldn't panic unless she is invited to your wedding and you are having a wedding dress theme - ie everyone wears their wedding dress!

You will look completely different! People will not have a clue! Plus its 2 out of how many? Relax and remember that you love it!!!:D

    Hi,

I totally agree with all of the above, and to be perfectly honest (and I hope this doesn't upset anyone) but when I try and think of the exact colour and style etc. of even my family and best friend's wedding dresses, I only really remember an "overview".

In other words, how fantastic (or not!) I thought they looked, how it made me feel seeing them (ie choked with emotion usually!!), and some basic details like the cut, colour etc. of the dress, but I certainly can't picture it in detail.

So I don't think anybody will be thinking of it as the same dress at all, and like the other posters have said you will make it look totally different by accessorizing and your colouring etc...

I'm with you Bubbles! I will be 6 foot and a size 8 as soon as I don the dress and I will not reshrink until it comes off, dammit!

Seriously though, I bet your guest doesnt even click. Us bridey types pay a lot more notice to the details of other brides dresses than you average guest I think.
