This is the model of xbox that the guy in Argos told me was going to be huge this year - they are expecting people to be fighting over them like they did when the wiis came out. They can be pre-ordered for delivery on 10 November.

Oh no,
thank you so much for your replies, but i've no idea which one to choose, i know he said he wanted the new one as its less likely to get the 'red ring of death' but i know he wont play online, just normal gaming.. can i be daft and ask what 'kinect' is please?
so which one to choose??
The one from Game sounds like a good deal, but he's not into football, more racing/shooter games,
Thanks again for all your advice xx0 -
Okay so not a present for kids, but for your hubbies, who could resist LOL
Body-conscious men can beef up their bulge with a new pair of pants from Marks and Spencer.
The underwear has a built-in "shelf" to enable those fretting over their lunchboxes to pump up their packages by more than a third, according to its makers.
The range, which goes on sale at Marks and Spencer later this month, has also been engineered to give its users a bum-lift.:snow_laug Maximouse loves the build up to Christmas :santa2:0 -

Kinect is a thing that is coming out very similar to the wii but without having to use remotes.. it's an interactive came with you on the screen.
The 4gb console is basically an arcade console as the 4gb will be taken up from your sons profile. He will not be able to save any game data.
Kinect is an absolute amazing thing, you can buy differant games for it, it comes with kinect adventures.. have a look on youtube at some videos.
I would reccomend the 250gb as it is better, and more robust than the original Elite.0 -

When you are spending that large amount of money wouldn't it be best to get him to have a look at for example the Argos website so he can point out to you which one he would like or may be casually ask him if any of his friends are getting xboxes for xmas and if so which ones have they asked for (or speak to the parents of his friends to see what they have gone for). At least then you wouldn't end up getting one that might not be as 'good as his friends are getting' and so make him not as cool as his mates LOL:snow_laug Maximouse loves the build up to Christmas :santa2:0 -

Agree Maxi. It is also worth bearing in mind that many electronic items are not returnable under their returns policy - unless faulty of course!!Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -

And neither are console games usually. My brother got 2 F1 wii games for xmas so I took the one I got him back to Argos. They said that I would have been told when I bought it that I couldn't return. I explained why I was returning and pointed out that it was still security sealed. Then the stupid woman broke the seal to check the contents, spoke to the manager, and then repeated the policy. I went mad because ok fine if I couldn't have returned it, I could have sold it or given it as a gift to someone else, but she was giving me it back with the security seal now broken! I demanded to speak to the manager and got a refund when I pointed this out.:snow_laug Maximouse loves the build up to Christmas :santa2:0 -
