I was in Smyths in Gateshead today and asked about it. They told me they had just sold out! Apparently they weren't expecting any more in, but often things come in their deliveries that they are not expecting. They had received 50 Toffees recently which was their share of 300 that Smyths had managed to acquire and share out amongst their shops. So if you are near a Smyths or have a friend / relative who lives near one, then you could ring the shop to see if they got any in and if so, if they have any left. It is also worth ringing on a daily basis, because as they said, they often get things that they weren't expecting.
On the plus side, there were loads of Bullseyes!:snow_laug Maximouse loves the build up to Christmas :santa2:0 -
I met a friend for coffee in M&S today and took Oscar the chatimal which she wanted for her daughter for xmas. We got a few amused looks when the chatimal kept repeating what I had primed it to say "Sara you'll get fat eating that cream cake" :rotfl:
For those of you who haven't heard of Chatimals before there are currently 3 types of Chatimal Hamster in the UK: Sophie (brown and white), Oscar (ginger and white) & Max (grey and white) and one type of Chatimal Meerkat (meerkat brown - well, what other colour could he be!). All the Chatimals act the same and the only difference is the type / colour. Chatimals are loved by all and are for children over 36 months up to adults (I can predict this being an office desk favourite!!!).
All you do is press the left paw, speak to the Chatimal, it records your voice for a few seconds then repeats it back to you in a random squeaky or low pitched hamster voice – even its little lips move when it is talking back. Its hilarious! Of course, you have to be careful what you say when you are in the vicinity of the Chatimal, as it will repeat it to anyone within earshot. See this youtube video which gives a good example of what it does...

I saw some of these for the first time in smyths today. They look really cute and seemed quite loud repeating what the group of kids were saying to them.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Hi, alot of the Argos stores in my area have the dolls in stock i.e Bishop auckland, durham, durham retail park, darlington, newton aycliffe. I went to the newton aycliffe store today and asked to see which ones they had as on the website it said they had four in stock. They only had draculaura and lagoona blue. I only bought Draculaura cos thats my daughters favourite. They have them on amazon but for double the price. I would try your local Argos and ask which ones they have.0 -
toffee the pony came back into stock in all our local argos's last weekend but seems to have gone again now, i think this maybe because someone was reserving them all and selling the reservation codes on argos for £10 and they were reported so they may have stopped reservations on it for a few days, toys r us are due it end of november. hth0

Hi, just a quick Q reg the Chatimals.......never heard of them before but after quickly looking through this thread for ideas for my 7yr old DD I'm convinced she'd love one of them!!!!
[STRIKE]As I said I've only quickly scanned thread, but have found them at play.com for £16.99 with free del....I'm thinking this isn't a bad deal if they so sought after?
[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Also they have both the hamster & the Meerkat[/STRIKE].... really torn which would be the best? Think DD would love the meerkat, but also have a 10yr old really girly girl to buy for this yr & wondered if someone with a girl that age would recommended one?
(Scrap that...it decided to inform me they are awaiting stock, just as I was about to pay!!!)
Ohhh & the reason I popped in here in the 1st place is for something fireman sam related (or very similar) for a 2yr old?
I'll be back......I'm really really struggling for ideas this year!!!!**************************************
I need someone really bad! Are you really bad?

Well if you live near a Smyths store, they have the Chatimals in stock for £16.99. Or if you look on ebay, you'll see that there a few there that are around the same price including postage. My friend's 10 year old girl was looking at some of the toys online and she loved the chatimal Oscar (the ginger and white one) and she also loved the Monster High Dolls.
The Fireman Sam Deluxe Firestation Playset was on the Toy Retailers Association top Dream toys 2010 list for Christmas. Its for age 3+ but I suppose you're little one may be nearer 3 anyway. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9243820/Trail/searchtext%3EFIREMAN+SAM.htm:snow_laug Maximouse loves the build up to Christmas :santa2:0 -
