Northern Rock Interest Only query

Hi all
Just a quick question as follows:
I am currently on a temporary 12 month switch to interest only with Northern Rock. Very soon the 12 months will be over and I will be put back on to full repayment terms. Before I waste any time applying I wondered if any NR customers have ever had any success with applying for an extension of the Interest Only period beyond 12 months?
At the time of agreeing it the maximum period allowed was 12 months. Does anybody know if NR have ever agreed an extension and under what circumstances they agree?
Before anyone feels the need to tell me that I am in a mess if I need to do that, I already know and am working on my SOA to post over on the DFW boards soon. But to help give a full picture of my issues I also need to consider what options are realistically available.
Many thanks in advance
