not sure if this is a win or a scam

Just had a phone call to say i had won a 7 night self catering holiday for 4 to either tenerife, costa del sol or the algarve. I didnt catch the name as i was not sure it was genuine. I have to pay flight supplements and insurance, but they wanted to no if i was a home owner and how much i earned. The holiday is valid for 18months but because there isnt an office nearby they are going to ring me later as they may be opening a office nearby shortly( very suspicious) as i would have to collect the documents and they cant be posted. any advice welcome.

Was it an 0161 number? I just had a call, literally 10 minutes ago from Club La Costa asking me if I was a home owner etc, and he mentioned something about a competition I'd entered. I googled the number and I think it's some kind of time share scam if it's the same people who called you. xx0

from here http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/01268557600 This is a company called Club la Costa. They phoned me early December, even though I am on TPS, and asked a basic holiday questionnaire. I was caught off guard as I usually would not speak to unsolicited callers but they did not ask for any personal details so I answered the questions. Last week I got a call to say I had won a holiday and had to call 0800 988 9904 to claim my prize. I obviously didn't and now they keep ringing asking why I have not phoned the 0800 number. They do not seem to understand 'I am not interested'. Have complained to TPS but from reading other forums CLC do not care whether you are on TPS or not!Replies to posts are always welcome, if they are done in the correct manner. If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0

Sounds like a time-share.
The only reason they wouldn't post the documents is that they want to see you in person. And they'd only want to do that if they want to give you the hard sell...0 -
Yeah timeshare unfortunately. They always ask if you're married & a home owner.... I usually ask them if I've definitely won a holiday & they usually say it's a TS.0

Definitely scam!0

Yes definately a scam. Any genuine promoter wouldnt want to know if you're a homeowner or if you earn any money at all.
Disappointing for you tho, as us compers are always waiting for an exciting call about a prize. I've answered many a phone call with a cheery hello
, only to end it with a miserable goodbye
, when someone's tried to sell me yet another magazine or newspaper subscription.
