Once I click proceed............. ?

Hi All

Once I click proceed on the CCCS website, how long does it take to set everything up usually?

What is the process?

Are the CCCS okay?

Thanks in advance.

  • Do you mean for a DMP?

If so I'm with CCCS, and they've always been very helpful & friendly, if you click to proceed they send you a welcome pack with template letters for creditors and that takes around a week from what I remember

    Good luck

Yes for a DMP, I would really need this to be turned around quickly. Is that a week for them to send everything out or a week to get things moving with the creditors?

    Thanks
  • It's around a week to receive it from what I remember, then you send the letter to creditors saying something along the lines of ' I'm in financial difficulty and working with CCCS my reference no is ..... blah blah blah' ( they sent the template for that), and you have to then send CCCS copies of statments etc.

    Why the rush?

    Thanks new beginning.

I just can't manage anymore and my temp job is about to finish so then I really will be in the .... until I can secure something else but no-one knows how long that will be.

It's typical that as I was just thinking I should do something about my finances and was I would pay them as normal until the DMP was set up and could pay a bit more to pay it off in 4.5 years I got told my temp job was coming to an end :-( (okay I don't like the department I have been moved to or the person I work with but it was paying the bills) I'm looking for a perm job which they know but they can't hold on until I find something (even with their profits they make - very big retailer).
  • First off try not to panic!

You can only pay them what you can afford, CCCS will tell you this too. If payments are due in the meantime send them £1 as a token payment, there is a template letter for this here - http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/debt_advice.php#6 until your DMP is set up.

So nothing basically can be done until I get the welcome pack and sign the agreement?
  • Thats it basically. You will have to field phonecalls and you will be deluged with letters but..

Keep calm, your doing the right thing and just repeat, when they call, that you are arranging a DMP with CCCS and give your reference number (which you should get pretty soon). That should give you some breathing space until the payments are set up.

    Good luck.
