does anyone know if second hand isis puzzle is worth buying, is there anyway of finding out whether it has already been opened.
    thanks
  • I certainly wouldn't buy a second hand one - how can you know it hasn't been tampered with?

The best prices on offer for new ones are here: http://www.welovegifts.tv/2007/11/the-isis-puzzle.html

they seem to have money off vouchers for the main suppliers of the products and they work - I used the Firebox one!

My step-dad got one as a present, took him 3 weeks of buying cryptic clues off the internet to get about 4 stages in. Eventually solved it, got the key thingy but then you have to go searching for the prizes. They can be anywhere in the UK.

Its a shame though, its such a pretty thing but once its open you can put it back together properly.

The problem might be that you can not join the Pyramid games, so no reward. Or that they already claimed a reward on that ISIS.
Every ISIS has a unique number and to play the game you must register the ISIS.
Currently there is a promotion for a special ISIS with an extra Reward Zone.
And two special pyramids worth £2000

Also recently a lot of free searches have been released. In Germany, Austria, France, Switserland, the Netherlands and Belgium.

New puzzles by Sonicwarp will be released at the end of august 2008.

A website in multiple languages can be found here and with links to the two official forums.

  • been looking at these and tempted but would like to know how exactly is it a puzzle what exactly is needed to be done with it?

    thanks
  • Hi there people.

The Isis Adventure isis rip off... and I believe they may be breaking the law and I al looking for a little bit of help in deciding in which way to proceed.

When the Isis adventure first started, All you had to do was solve the puzzle, then on the website it would give the location of golden pyramids you went along and claimed your prize. Each pyramid had one gold coin and several silver coins. Gold coins were worth 500 quid, silver were worth 20 quid. once the gold coin had been claimed, you had to wait until all the silver coins had gone and it was re-stocked.

The problem was, once a few people had solved the puzzle, people being people, the internet being the internet, the solution was posted all over the internet. So to combat this, The makers of the puzzle, Sonicwarp Ltd introduced a system where you had to solve a riddle to locate the pyramid. also, within that riddle was a password which you needed to claim a gold coin. They also introduced a service where you could check the passwords online, for a fee of five quid per go. which later on due to pressure they reduced to 3.50 per go.

A bigger problem started this year, where they now charge a subscription to the section of the website that shows the approxamate locations and the riddles. So now to be able to claim your prize, you need to pay money. I dont think this is legal, can anyone else advise...

currently on any of the websites that sell the puzzle they make no mention of an additioal fee to be able to complete the adventure. will this come under the Sale of goods act 1977, particularly as the item is not fit for purpose anymore as you cant claim a prize without paying money.

On the isis adventure websites, there are several terms and conditions that I think fall into the rellms of the unfair terms in consumer contracts act 1999. and a

also, as it is a compition, are there rules on havng to pay a fee to collect a prize?

    Any advice will be helpful.
