Don't buy into tabloid scare stories! Even Cancer Research UK says not to panic:

Dont watch or read the news ,going by advice from my dentist :)
He has just come from Europe and said their research is much more advanced than here and he firmly believes that it is a major indicator and asked me not to use it ,good enough for me :)

Just save yourself some money and don't buy mouthwash at all - there is no necessity for it apart from one or two specific conditions, and even then only for short term use.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

So are you saying that it doesn't help reduce plaque, maintain healthy gums, strenghten teeth against decay, prevent/reduce tartar, kill up to 99.9% oral bacteria and keep breath smelling fresh ?

    Yep.

Good brushing with a little bit of decent toothpaste will do all that.

And if your toothbrushing is crap, your breath will still stink and your teeth rot even if you do use mouthwash.

    It's useless.
