Just wondered if anyone has ever had an experience with ing direct mortgages am already a customer with them & have been quite good just wondered if they were quick or slow to deal with as it is all through post & over the internet never really considered this option before.

I remortgaged from my previous provider to ING last month. I too was an existing ING customer (although my savings have been elsewhere since their rates dropped). I was very impressed with the speed with which everything was processed once I had applied initially online. (I used their conveyancers as ING were covering the legal fees.) There was a hefty upfront mortgage fee though.
The online setup is much as you would expect if you are an existing customer - I have been able to set up overpayments online, and view statements - but it's early days. When you set up an overpayment online it is just added to the next scheduled DD mortagge payment. I have been meaning to ring them to find out how to make overpayments which are effective immediately (since interest is calculated daily).0 -
I have a 3 year old mortgage with ING direct. Really easy to deal with, straightfoward, and they don't push to sell you anything else (no spam or junk mail).
About to remortgage now, spoke to them on the phone this time, very helpful and friendly. Overpayments, either one-off or regular, are very quick and easy to set up.0 -
Further to my post above I have now rung ING and the very helpful lady on the phone explained that additional overpayments could me made at any time over the phone by debit card and would be effective without having to wait until the usual payment date. I do have a flexible mortgage though, I guess others may potentially differ.0
