  • Hi all, nearly time now, Kiddlies are in bed. Son trapfly has got here safely straight from his last performance on the trapeze dressed like Jonny Depp in Pirates. Good job he never got stopped that could have been fun.
3rd son is stoned and 2nd son has his head down the bog after putting 12 cans of Smiths away. Don't you just love a family Christmas

Handy is doing his best to keep the spirit of good will alive.:D

Cheers all, more from Emmerdale Later.

Hangovers for some of the adults, and a Drum kit for Grandson E, and Electric Organ for Grand Daughter I :eek::eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Serves them right for overdoing the Xmas Cheer.

Handy had to smile while he was putting them together [STRIKE]last night[/STRIKE] This Morning.

Hope everyone is well, it looks like it will be a good morning down here in Scrumpyland, I'm off for a bracing walk with the dogs now.

    Regards, Handy.

    Good morning and Merry Christmas!

For all those newcomers out there......today it's Christmas, when we celebrate with family and friends the birth of a Jewish lad some 2000 years ago who grew up to teach people to have kindness and respect for one another. However much of the rest of the legend you believe, if we all just followed those basic principles the world would be a better place. If you are at rock bottom because of financial problems, you have come to the right place. Today it's Christmas - celebrate what you have got - life, health, family, friends, whatever.....And make a firm resolution that once Christmas is over, you will be back to this site for help and support on sorting out the financial mess for once and for all. Do that, and you will have more reason to celebrate next Christmas. Have a peaceful day.

Good Evening All and a Merry Christmas to all my MSE and NTN friends.

Well Lady Hooray kept me working most of the day.
Till it was too late to go out and get my last minute bits. Mind you I can manage with what we've got till the shops open again. It's forecast to be -14 tonight, but we wont be bothered. Most of the family has arrived safely. The Grandkids 18 mths and 3 yrs are eating us out of tangerines and candy canes. Handy is on his second beer the wood burner is working overtime and all is well with the world, well for the next few days at least.:rotfl:

    Cheers all, Handy:D

Back in a while to do some carol singing. (Hey Carol).

Now the question is....who has control of the laptop :rotfl:...Last time they came the 3 yr old was reformatting your hard drive if I remember correctly :D

Maybe time to install a free kid proof OS with no GUI? (linux methinks:)). Maybe that will be your redemption today Handy?

For the ppl that are stressed out and have just stumbled across this site welcome :)...take a few hours to stroll round the forums...post but don't spam (remember no ads) and beware of the trolls (don't take them personally) and remember it's not going down (or getting into debt) that's the crime but staying down (not taking your head out of the sand)....

For those with lots of of debt and feeling very insecure try writing a monthly spreadsheet (even on a piece of paper) of your outgoings and incomings with everything you can with the responsible adults in your household (no point in trying to deal with your debts if your partner/spouse is not on board)...there's nothing like preparation if your job is insecure...

Then stroll round...pull up a cheap cup of something ...and make yourself at home....

A few threads to get you started are the frugal living challenge

    The DMP (debt management program)

    and

Weezl and friend's mega cheap recipe testing thread

though there are many others and these are just a few to get you started......Many others perfectly worthy of mention that I'm not personally on....It's an individual thing I guess....these are just the ones I wish I'd started out on.

    Anyhow happy holidays :)

What more can I say that hasn't been said so beautifully by my friends in the above posts

They are so right, enjoy your day, no matter how you have paid for it, but make a point of coming back to this site and searching around the forums and guides, and find the advice you need and implement it, so that next Christmas will be so much more pain free

No matter what religion you follow, if any, this time of the year is a time of Peace and Hope and a promise of a better future, which CAN be your's if you put your mind to it

If you are reading this in despair wondering how you will get through the mounting debt that seems to come to a head at this time of the year, please post and, though the forums may be quiet, there will be someone around soon enough to advise you and offer you some support
