Good morning folks, coffee and cakes at the ready.....
It's another fairly chilly one after a wild night!!, hope it's warmer where you all are. I've just finished watching Hooray Hall 1914 or you may know it as Downton Abbey, Since it's been on Lady Hooray has become more like the Dowager Duchess. She says it reminds her off the old days when pater owned half of Yorkshire.:D
The good old days when common folk like us had rickets and whooping cough and could survive for weeks on one slice of bread and dripping. Not like now when we need to be paid and own things like shoes and instead of walking every where travel on thing like buses.
It must be 60 years since she had to go on a bus and that was only when the Chauffer broke down (the car was fine!!):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Anyway enough of my ramblings, time to put another log on the fire. The temperature in Handy's sitting room has dropped to 85 degrees, and before any eco warrior out there complains burning wood is carbon neutral. Down here nearly every one has a wood burner and logs are £100 per ton. 2 weeks ago I stacked 3 tons of logs for the hall.
I said to Lady Hooray that if logs get more expensive I would need a pay rise, the response, did we have any old furniture that we wanted to get rid off.:eek::eek:
Just kidding, I have a chain saw and she has a 6 acre wood:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Time to go now.
Regards to all, Handy.
P.s.
Paddy takes his Goldfish to the vets, He says I think it's epileptic. The Vet looks in the bowl and says it seem very calm.
Paddy says it is now but you should see how it goes when I take it out!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hello? I'm here? Still up at Mam's and she is still in hospital but at least now I have normal internet access via P-A-Y-G dongle
Whem Mam went in on 19th October, she had fallen back onto the bad with head hanging over bottom of bed, having been sick with 'coffee grounds' vomit. When my brother found her and sat her up she continued being sick like that. Taken in ambulance to hospital - ddue to her age she was given several tests for risk of falling, mobility, swallowing, etc - she failed the swallowing test (but would you when asked to drink water with lots of thickener in - she doesn't like plain water and doesn't like the thickener) so she was put on NBM (nil by mouth). It was only after about 4 days that they put a saline drip on her for fluids when family repeatedly said she was getting dehydrated. After saying at first she had a unrinary infection, then a chest infection, then a bowel infection, she had 3 lots of antibiotics straight after each other, via the drip. Eventually, when we repeatedly asked about lack of nourishment, they attempted a feed tube down through her nose on 27th October which she pulled out before it got used. Late on the afternoon of the 28th they fitted the tube and got her x-rayed to check positioning and started the tube feed (while we were there at 7 pm visiting). The tube feed was to last for 4 days over the weekend, but Mam pulled the tube out again that evening at 11 pm'ish, and they decided not to try again. With it being the weekend, nothing moved forward so that weekend was spent with family feeding her when they weren't looking - she ate soup and mooler-rice/yoghurts with no problem from a spoon from us. I then saw the doctor on 1st Nov morning who agreed to go forward with comfort soft feeding, so we were able to feed her soup, yoghurts, etc openly which was a lot easier.
Must go now as my sister and my great-neices have arrived
Do you want to say hello to my friends?
Hello to Susans friends ............ Holly xxxxxx Grace xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
So sorry to hear about your Ma 3Dogs...sounds awful. As usual I was offline (near enough) on Sabbath but spent the day trying to get AV to behave itself (sure my pc has trojans - alas AVG didn't find them :eek)...Got it almost finished by 12noon (it had been on since 4am) but I thought it still had another 30000 objects to go and I go on chat and someone tells me how to tweak my system so the 101 things I don't want at start up don't come up..so I start again. Another 10 hours later and it's finally done...and then I discover (towards the end by which point I'm fixated on it) my hard drive has serious fragmentation  so just sorted that
And don't mention the chest..... Despite reducing the cigs yesterday (down to about 20 roll ups from over 40+) on the e-cig it's not really improved...I still cough alot and sound like one of the toads from Handy's pond before it meets it's maker.....LOL...So I don't think I'll be starting work soon....:(
On Saturday I did so much stuff I was exhausted by 8.30pm - even though I'd only been as far as the main street all day...
I made a coaster for a friend off the paper weaving kits that were all the rage for kids a few years back. They initially retailed about £20 but I got mine from the charity shop for about £5...and then half varnished it. Cheap too...just need the varnish and like the kit has everything else bar the scrap glossy catalogue I got from last week's snail mail.
And I also made my first card on the pc using open office (open office and AV don't mix btw :P) which I was quite pleased about. I have a little card stock from ebay a while back so I will be making all my own new year cards this year with the stock of photos just put on card and on the printer off this pc....(I have loads...alot are not online)
Radio 4 is trying hard to be depressive this am LOL...
Anyhow shower time now so best go...
Blessings
