    3 Dogs - sorry to hear about Mum, hope you are able to get to see her and get some answers. If you have any queries or concerns about her care on that ward, speak to the staff. If no joy there, speak to the ward manager. They should be able to put your mind at rest. If however you still have concerns, hospitals now have something like a PALS officer (patient advice and liaison service). It's the job of PALS to look into any concerns a patient or their family may have regarding the care received, provided of course you have already tried to resolve the problem with the staff on the ward first.

    3Dogs, Take care. Thinking of your mum and you all xxx And I just wanted to re-iterate Nargle's psot above. It sounds as though your sis is a fabulous advocate for your mum, but do make sure you are all shouting loudly. There just aren't enough voices reaching those with the power to do anything about the resources difficulties faced by the NHS - and much more importantly, the impact this has on the patients, families, carer's and friends that are there to help. :(

    Thank youveryone again for your concern - that tip is good Nargle, I'll let my sister know that and chase it up myself when I go up - and thanks for your PM Nicca :T

    I'll tell you one thing, the anti-depressants I am currently on must be very good because I am dealing with this very well, not a single tear so far - though that will change when I've seen me Mam I'm sure :o
