Slow Internet browsing

My daughter has an Advent computer which uses Windows Vista. The computer runs normally but the Internet Explorer browsing and start up of IE is very slow. Although the closing down of IE is perfect. She is using Internet Explorer 8. We have done all the Cleaners and Virus detectors etc. She is driving me mad please please help!!!!???

if you go to control panel , then click on the system tab it will tell you how much ram you have installed under Memory ( Ram) , suspect it will have only 1014mb ( 1Gb) and vista could really do with a minimum of 2GB to work well

You are correct it only has 1gb,the model is a Advent 5421.0

reset IE to defaults under tools, internet options, advanced, scan with malwarebytes, post a hijackthis log.!!
