Public Sector - Internal Trawl

Are Public Sector bodies still allowed to use the "Internal Trawl" method for filling vacancies?

  • sorry I am new to this site and not 100 % sure what internal trawl means but i work in the public sector and often jobs are advertised internally 1st before the are advertised externally is this what you mean?

    As far as I know yes they are. I would imagine that most employers (both public and private) would operate this policy as it gives employees promotion prospects.
