Day out today, where???
Options
Taking 2 kids (6 & 18mths) gran and aunt out today but where shall we go
I'm thinking Ayr, for the huge park should stay dry today an might also get down the water, wellies included
Largs for the tea rooms and again can get down to the water
Or Helensburgh. Somewhere I haven't been in years
Leaving in an hour, under an hours driving distance so we're there for 12 and something/somewhere we won't spend too much money
Suggestions please???

Largs for the oldies, the kids are a bit young to appreciate anything just for them.
Having said that, the petting farm at Dean Castle in Kilmarnock is good for all ages though.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Agree Calderglen is great...animal corner is officially a childrens' zoo (meercats & wallabies were our highlights) and there is a good little playpark close by. If you are in the area, try Cafe Ceramico (Ceramica?) pottery painting place. Nice snacks, lovely atmosphere and even a little playframe (climbing, balls, etc.). My daughter loves it!0
