Don't turn off Windows Updates. Install them all now, at least to SP2.

How do I install them all now? SP2? Also a couple of times this morning whilee I was trying all those options it switched itself off and would not start till it had cooled down. Has been on now for about 4 hours and just did it again. I left it off for about 20 minutes and it now seems ok. Can laptops overheat from being on your lap for 3 plus hours?

Use it on a flat surface, not your lap.

I generally use mine on my small table I bought for that purpose but my daughter is 24 and uses it on her lap or in her bed. I will tell her to be more careful. Thanks
