  • If you check martin's recent weekly email there are a pair uggs for about £50-£60 that are wellies with sheep fur lining. I'm getting myself a pair! find details below. I can't post links yet but here are the details.

    MandMDirect.com £59.99 welly style Uggs, were £129.99
  • Hi - buy some wellywarmas online - these fleece linings are by far the cheapest way to use your existing wellies. Cheapest ones are in either pink, navy/plum or moss green only £16.95.
  • Muck boots any day. Don't buy Muddies as every pair, however warm and comfy, have split in the exactly same place with everyone I know who bought them. (I've had 3 pairs, my other half two).

I spend cold wet Sunday mornings in winter watching both my sons play football. Their dad is the match contact for both teams and usually arranges fixtures so we can get to both matches, I think I'm probably experienced in keeping my feet warm!! Bog standard wellies, one pair of normal socks, one pair of thermal socks and welly warmers. I watch the football with warm feet every week!
  • I have thermal boots from Derby the horse supply people, available on the net. Suitable for wide calves for people who have problems with this and nice and long in the leg. I wear these all winter doing my horses and my feet are well warm. I believe they are on offer at 29.99.

I bought some BOGS boots last year - UNBELIEVABLE!! They are designed for freezing temperatures so keep your feet really warm. Don't even need thick socks with them. And they are soooo comfy! I previously had Hunter wellies, as I had heard they were the best, but my feet were always freezing in them. :( I use mine to walk dogs and when we had all the snow last winter, there I was with toasty toes. They're not cheap, but well worth the money. :j

Wow I've just looked at a site which sells them and they do look excellent, I just know I will have to save up for a pair! I have a pair of Hunter wellies at the moment and they have split around the ankle area! so I am in desperate need of a new pair. Just wondering as well, I have a bunion:( on my right foot, and my hunters have split here as well, are they very wide fitting boots? (I would need ladies ones!) Thank you :D

Sorry betsie, just realised I've hijacked your post {insert embarrassed smilie}, sorry x

Moon Boots - remember them? Ideal for what you are after - and cheap as chips too. You just need to find a retro 80's shop and you're in!:j
  • Another vote here for Muckboots. Ok so they are expensive, but they last ages. I was going through 2 x £25 pairs of wellys a year before discovering these so they are actually proving far better value for money in the long term.
Ive had mine so long that the rubber has cracked a little where the foot bends, but it doesnt matter as water doesnt leak in because of the neoprene underneath.
Dont wear them for dog walk on a rainy summers day though - your feet will be steaming !
  • Hi Daisygirl

Hunter's are a bit pants aren't they?? :( Mine also caused blisters - not pleasant!!

Bogs are definitely wide enough for bunions etc... I bought my Mum a pair of the short, flowery ones and her bunions don't cause any problem at all in her Bogs. Mum wears hers all year around to do gardening (they're breathable too so OK in summer) and she absolutely loves them - wouldn't wear anything else now. Have another friend who used to be a Mucks fan - but now won't go back to them since trying Bogs - think it was how comfortable they were as I believe Mucks are warm also. And if you have big calves, Bogs S-T-R-E-T-C-H like mad so you can still get them on!! I love 'em! :T
