yet again my ex has got out of paying a penny ..CSA took 14 weeks to track him down since he came of benefits ...letters sent to his house were sent back not at this address ..changed mobile number and house phone just rings out ..asked me to send photos and up to date details ( didnt have any new details but neighbours said he was still at same address living with his dad ) so sent them on ...got a phone call end august to say they had tracked down his employer and asked them to send on details of his wages ....got a letter following week saying i was to get xxx amount every week and so much arrears for the 14 weeks he had been working ....starting from this monday

beginning last week ...Got a phonecall from csa saying they had contacted employer just to double check they had deductions order set up
...To be Told he now longer works ther ..he left on his own accord teh same week CSA had contacted them and that they had aready paid his Wages and holiday pay out to him (knowing he had a wages deduction in place

this has been a regular occurance during the 4 yrs .. and never yet had a payment from any of his workplaces as soon as csa trace him down he leaves ..

i have been told there is nothing they can do and can only wait in hope that next time they have more luck

got a letter through door this morning saying he has less than £5 so will get NIL

so phoned them up to say hes either working / working on the side or on benefits as not living on fresh air ...told me his (non exisitant) partner might be keeping him ...they eventually went into computer to find out he had made a claim for benefits and if his claim is successful should be lucky to get a £5

you would think the ammount of time hes been hopping off and on his national insurance number would flag up hes got a deductions order in place

thought CMEC were supposed to have more powers .. and get claims through quicker

I don't know if there is much the CSA can do in that situation. My ex did exactly the same before moving somewhere outside the UK  I never got a penny out of him.
  • OP you are still owed the arrears from the time he worked. Unfortunately there are myriad websites telling NRPs exactly what to do to avoid payment, and one of these things is job hopping.

You will have to keep on the CSA's case, they can check if he is on benefits, and if he isn't they can do a tax trace to find any employer.

  • makes me sick to read these kind of posts, firmly believe once caught up with CSA should be able to enforce action much quicker!

Thanks for your replies ..i said this to the last advisor i spoke to him about job hopping and they said it might just look like that to you ..told them to read the last few yrs on my case file ..and i'm sure they will / might agree

they said the quickets they could set up a Dfrom earnings order is 6 weeks ..so by teh time they have notified him they will be taking xxx he leaves ..

but maybe one day ..Thansk again ..i know im not teh only one in the situation but frustrating when you think at last i getting somewheer ..to get told otherwise a few few weeks later
  • You might try complaining formally to the CSA and then ICE. I complained to ICE, which they wouldn't investigate as they said the CSA hadn't finished their "investigations" (which consisted of telling me to booger off) but the very fact of having gone to ICE meant I got someone who could do the DEO a lot quicker than 6 weeks, took about a fortnight.
