This will automatically raise alarm bells if there is any attempt to remortgage.
This charge will default to be the first charge against the property. Any new mortgage becoming 2nd in line. A position no lender will accept.
Agree totally with Clapton's comments.you need to find out the full facts about ownership and they need to seek specialised help about the implications of IVA to handle his debts
I would suggest that they contact some-one like the CAB or Payplan (a not for profit debt help organisation )
