I have an endowment policy due to mature on 22/11/10 and is going to have a shortfall .. am I required to surrender back to the original broker Aviva or would I get more money if I sold it somewhere else and does anybody know how I do this????

Aviva will provide you with your maturity proceeds. They're the life assurance company, not the broker.
Nobody's going to buy it now - not enough time for them to gain from it. So no point following this route.0
