Unfair bank charge

Just need a bit of a rant.
My bank statement came through this morning, saying that as I have gone overdrawn by 26p, I will be charged £50!
How on earth is that fair?
I have asked for an overdraft or buffer zone, but they keep saying no, come back in three months.
I think today's project is to switch bank accounts - anyone know of any good ones?

If you can show that this is the first time it has happened, call the bank and voice your dissattisfaction.. and that state this is the first time it has happened. Ask that as a gesture of goodwill, will they refund the charges.. otherwise.. say you'll be moving banks!Geek by Nature.. Geek by Profession!

My daughter had a similar problem, she explained to the bank but they were unwilling to help........she had requested that if she could get her standing order's (rent, gas and electric) all taken out at the beginning of the month then there would not be a problem but no they refused even to talk about it.
As time went with the daughter working overtime to pay off the charges it soon became apparent that was'nt working and she was getting further and further behind, much to my daughters distress she agreed to let me and her father help her out (very proud girl did'nt like to ask for anything......told her pride goes before a fall).
What annoyed me was that this bank was sending her "would you like a loan" or "we have a new credit card" letter's all the time.......must admit it was most frightening to learn that you child was within an hairs breadth of committing suicide:j:j enjoy life......make savings.......have holiday0 -
I've had this before too
I'm with Natwest and to be fair they are brilliant. I discussed my case on the phone to them and they refunded without hesitation
I suppose it varies with each bankIf Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred0 -

I hope she's OK now xx
I have had a refund from them already this year, but it was due to a mistake of theirs, so I'm not sure if they'd go for it. Usually they are OK, but i just felt that £50 for a 26p overdraft was excessive.
