Make do and mend: Can you still buy heel paint?

I used to touch up my shoes with black heel paint that I bought in Woolies but nobody seems to sell heel paint anymore.

Does it still exist?

I know I could use marker pen and clear nail varnish but I'd like proper heel paint if possible.

I havent seen this for years and tried googling with no result (got loads of results for heel PAIN, lol).
SO now I just use nail warnish, its cheap and there are so many colours a perfect match can usually be found.

Edit - tried different terminology and found this, it says it repairs heels
    called shoe goo

  • How about one of those tiny tins of Humbrol paints that is used on model making and clear nail varnish over the top.I had a tiny staue of 'The thinker' that one of the boys accidently chipped and I touched it up with some black from the tiny little tin.I even used a cotton bud rather than buy a paintbrush.
  • I've seen it in Timpson's quite recently so I'm sure it must be available elsewhere. I think they call it "Heel Renew" or something like that. If not, black nail-polish is easy to find these days, thank goodness.
  • Thanks all, I think there's a Timpson's in my local Asda, I'll go and have a look next week, if not it'll be boots for black nail varnish!

  • Sometimes haberdashers/sewing/craft shops can have them.

I've tried permant markers but I've found they leave a weird sheen that gives the game away.
    Put the kettle on. ;)
  • as this has dropped down the OS board, I've popped it over to I wanna to see if I can get you some more responses :)

Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies.
