I bought 4 of these last month , they are superb . Choice of 4 settings , motorised rotation for heat spread , remote control , timer operation , cost peanuts to run as they are basically light elements . Only downside is they are bright , like a light . At £11 odd each a true bargain , buy 2 for free delivery as well .

Igenix 1800W Halogen Heater with Remote is £11.99 from Amazon. Postage is charged but if you are buying something else to take you over the £15 threshold its a good buy

I doubt may people are getting their electricity at 7p per unit nowadays (ignoring previously frozen price plans or discounted rates such as E7)

Minimum cost is about 10p per unit but could be 14p per unit or more so add 50% - 100% to the above quoted figures ;)

Scottish Power charge 7.65p per kw*. I know, because I've just moved to them.

    * OK, to qualify for this figure you have to accept the 14p/day standing charge. All prices include VAT.
